Students, please review the honor code.
Ardrey Kell High School supports student adherence to the CMS Student Honor Code regarding the merits of ethical behavior and fair play. Cheating on exams or other academic work will not be tolerated and will lead to serious repercussions for students. Any honor code violation may result in disqualification from the National Honor Society. The Student Honor Code states the following: “I will not cheat or help others cheat; will take pride in my school and how I represent it; and will be responsible for my actions. I understand that violating this honor code compromises my self-respect. I will follow this honor code and help others do the same.”
Consequences for Honor Code Violations:
1st Offense: 3 Days ASD and referral to administration
2nd Offense: 3 Days ASD and 1 Day ISS (In School Suspension)
3rd Offense: 3 Days ASD and 1 Day OSS (Out of School Suspension) – *Will reflect on your official transcript*
4th (+) Offense: As assigned by the administrator
***Any violation of the Honor Code will have an effect on continuing in school leadership roles or participating in extracurricular activities.***
Parents, please take the time to review the honor code and consequences with your student and be sure they understand the consequences of breaking the honor code. We are continuing to have a number of cheating issues/incidents in my classroom. Most recently there were cheat sheets found on the floor, students having cheat sheets in their sleeves, students writing answers on desks, students opening a second browser when taking a quiz on Edmodo and students having their vocabulary lists out (just to name a few). Cheating will not be tolerated in Spanish 2 classrooms and the honor code and consequences will be strictly followed. Please let me know if you or your student has any questions.
